STRETCHES FOR WORKING AT A COMPUTER

If you spend many hours sitting at your computer, it’s important to remember your muscles.

Break up the monotony of staring at your screen by taking breaks, giving your eyes a break, and stretching your body.

Some mini stretches that you can try at your desk:

  • Neck stretches - moving your head forward, backward, side to side and rotating side to side. Neck circles are not advised as they put your cervical neck bones into a “pedestal and mortar” situation - wearing the bones.
  • Shoulder shrugs – rolling your shoulders forwards and backwards and up and down to stretch your shoulders.
  • Seated figure 4 – crossing your ankle over your opposite knees to stretch your hips.
  • Seated knee to chest – while sitting, bring one knee up towards your chest to stretch your lower back and hips.
